Lleida is projected with Animac as an incubator city for creativity and animation technology. The Mostra Internacional d’Animació de Catalunya displays for one more year the talent, imagination and creative capacity of this artistic discipline that has a meeting point in our city, a benchmark in the international arena. This year he does it by the hand of the artist, recovering the work and the look of the creator, with the desire to touch the matter again.

The good moment of animation these days has its exponent in the Lleida exhibition, which has received more than 600 national and international works in its nineteenth edition. Among other novelties, Animac joins the celebration of the centenary of the birth of Norman McLaren, world model of experimental animation, and will have the exceptional participation of one of his disciples, the plastic artist Pierre Hébert. They also highlight the high presence of films made by women and first-timers, such as the premiere in Catalonia of the film Rocks in My Pockets, by Signe Baumane, shortlisted for the Oscars. Animac will once again illuminate the screens of the festival spaces, exploring new worlds and languages. The exhibition is another example that reinforces the city’s positioning as a platform for the cultural industry.

In addition to the Llotja and the CaixaForum as Animac stages, the Magical Media will be added, which will host educational workshops for students from the Leandre Cristòfol Municipal Art School and the UdL, among others. Everyone is welcome to Animac, let’s open our eyes and minds and let us be carried away by the stories and characters that will discover a fascinating and animated new dimension.
