Chelo Loureiro

Chelo Loureiro can speak authoritatively about what it means to create committed animation. Founder of Abano Producións, the Galician production company with a strong independent character and an active member of CIMA, she has produced award-winning shorts such as Carne, by Camila Kater, and Homomaquia, by David Fidalgo, and has participated in the production of Decorado, by Alberto Vázquez. At present, she is working on two animated feature films: Unicorn Wars, by Alberto Vázquez, and Sultana’s Dream, by the former director of Animac and one of the great Spanish filmmakers, Isabel Herguera. Recently, she has made her debut as a director with the feature film Valentina, nominated for this year’s Goya Awards and screened at Animac.
