ANIMAC PREMIERES IN SPAIN THE FILM 'THE CONCIERGE' FROM THE JAPANESE STUDIO PRODUCTION I.G

The film is part of Animac Teen, sessions designed for the young audience, between 12 and 18 years old, who will be able to enter for free to this screening and also to that of the other Japanese anime that Animac is programming this year : Sand Land
Animac, the International Animation Film Exhibition of Catalonia, organized by Lleida City Council, which will be held in the city from February 15 to 18, will premiere in Spain the film The Concierge (Japan, 2023), directed by Yoshimi Itazu and produced by the renowned studio of japanese animation Production I.G , creators, among other international successes, of the Ghost in the Shell saga, a 1995 science fiction film that marked a before and after in the genre, and which has given rise to a saga of manga, films, anime series, video games and novels.
The feature film is part of the program Animac Teen, sessions designed for young audiences, between 12 and 18 years old, who will be able to enter this screening and also the from this year’s other Japanese anime: Sand Land (Japan, 2023). In addition, this audience will also be able to see the films Mars Express (France, 2023) and Four Souls of Coyote (Hungary, 2023) for free.
The Concierge will be screened on Saturday, February 17 at 4 p.m. at Sala Ricard Viñes in La Llotja, and is the film adaptation of the fantasy manga The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store written by Tsuchika Nishimura and awarded the 2022 Excellence Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival. The film narrates the story of Akino, a trainee janitor at a special department store where animals are the customers. Under the watchful eye of the floor manager and senior janitors, Akino races to fulfill the wishes of customers with a myriad of needs and problems in her attempt to become a full-fledged janitor.
The same Saturday, at 8:30 p.m., the sci-fi thriller Mars Express (France, 2023) directed by Jérémie Périn will be screened at Animac, with a marked influence of anime and set on Mars in the year 2200.
On Sunday, February 18 at 5:30 p.m. you can see Sand Land, the adaptation of the manga by Akira Toriyama (creator of Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump), directed by Toshihisa Yokoshima, a fast-paced adventure starring humans and demons.
And also on Sunday, after the closing of Animac, at 8.30 p.m., the epic adventure Four Souls of Coyote (Hungary, 2023) by Áron Gauder, where the past and present of a Native American community struggle to live in harmony with the environment.
