THE SHORT FILM 'DEAD AIR' WINS THE ANIMAC TALENT.CAT AWARD

The Animac Talent.cat award has been won by the stop motion short film Dead Air (Spain, 2023), from the BAU school, Centro Universitario de Artes y Design from Barcelona, ​​and directed by Ronja Ehlers, Lucía Artiles de Urioste, Melissa Fabienne Klein and Ines Filipa Palma Martins. The jury, made up of the screenwriter and director Nuria G. Blanco, the comic artist and illustrator Fermín Solís and the historian, curator and professor at the U-tad, Samuel Viñolo, has awarded the film the prize for its visual originality and for the talent to create an apparently simple and contained story, but one that explains the portrait of two lives in parallel in a sensitive and exciting way.

The jury has also awarded a special mention to the 3D animated short film Metro (Spain, 2023) directed by Ferran Corati Calle from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), for creating a powerful atmosphere of terror, very well resolved on an artistic level and with great technical execution and visual composition.
