Animac 2026 Call for Submissions Now Open

The International Animated Film Festival of Catalonia opens the period to present animation projects for its 30th edition, which will take place in Lleida from February 19 to 22, 2026.

The submission period will be open from June 2 to October 26, 2025.

At Animac, awards are decided by the audience, who will vote for their favorite projects in the following categories:

• Audience Award for Best Short Film (Official Section)
• Little Animac Audience Award
• Futur Talent Audience Award

In addition, the best films submitted by Catalan animation schools will be eligible for the Animac Talent.cat Award, which will be assessed by an external jury composed of industry professionals.

The 2025 edition of Animac received a total of 721 films, marking an increase of 159 titles compared to the previous year. The festival also saw greater geographic diversity, with submissions from 71 countries, up from 53 the year before.
Countries with the highest number of entries included France (171 films), followed by Spain (70), United Kingdom (39), United States (34), Germany (31), and Canada (34).

These figures reaffirm Animac’s position as a key international hub for animated filmmaking and highlight the growing interest from the sector in being part of the festival.
