ANIMAC RECEIVES MORE THAN 700 FILMS IN OPEN CALL FOR ENTRIES
Registrations are open for Animac Pro: Incubator, Animacrea, Animac
Campus and accreditations for professionals and companies in the sector
Animac, the International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia, has received a total of 721 films in response to its open call for entries for the 2025 edition. These productions come from 71 countries, with a particularly high number from France (171 films), followed by Spain (70), the United Kingdom (39), the United States (34), Germany (31) and Canada (34). It is worth noting the significant increase in the number of films received, 159 more than last year, as well as the increase in the number of countries of origin, with 562 films from 53 countries.
The number of entries thus highlights the favourable moment that the animation sector is experiencing at a global level. This year, 283 short films were submitted by animation schools, representing almost 40% of the total number of films submitted. This figure highlights Animac’s important role in discovering new talent and its function as a platform for young people to showcase their first works in the field of animation.
On the other hand, the Pro registrations (Animac’s professional section) are open until 13 December, including
- Incubator, a space where projects in development will be presented to a panel of experts to help them grow.
- Animacrea, an area open to the public where animation schools and universities will present workshops and activities.
- Animac Campus, the area dedicated to film and animation students.
- Accreditations for professionals and companies working in the animation sector.
