Call for entries: Animac 2027 submissions now open

The 31st edition of Animac, the Mostra Internacional de Cinema d’Animació de Catalunya, is now open for animation project submissions from around the world. The festival will take place in Lleida from 25 to 28 February 2027.

The submission period will run from 1 June to 20 October 2026.

Selected projects will compete for the Audience Awards in the following categories:

• Audience Award for Best Short Film (Official Section)
• Petit Animac Audience Award
• Futur Talent Audience Award

In addition, the best films submitted by Catalan animation schools will be eligible for the Animac Talent.cat Award, granted by an external jury made up of industry professionals.

In its latest edition, Animac received 759 films from 85 countries, with a strong presence of productions and co-productions from France, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Portugal and Hungary. The festival screened more than 230 titles, including 12 world premieres, 11 international premieres, 55 Spanish premieres, 39 Catalan premieres and 59 debut films.

The participation recorded in the latest edition once again highlighted Animac’s international position within the animation sector and the growing interest from creators, production companies and schools in becoming part of the festival.
