Juan Pablo Zaramella

Argentine director, animator and illustrator Juan Pablo Zaramella will receive the Animac 2023 Animation Master Award for being one of the most outstanding contemporary stop motion animators internationally. His simple aesthetic style, sense of rhythm and humor developed in his shorts and series, have placed him on the podium of world animation.

His short film “Luminaris” (Argentina, 2011) won the Guinness World Record for the most awarded animated short with 324 awards, including the Audience Award and Fipresci of the International Critics in Annecy, and a shortlist for the Oscars . At the moment, Zaramella is preparing his first animated feature entitled “Soy Nina” (Coda), a project that won the Ciclic prize at Annecy-Mifa 2020.

In addition, Animac will dedicate a retrospective of Zaramella’s work, as well as a traveling exhibition curated by Angie Zamblera, Animac being its first European venue. p>
